Hank and Helen Call It Splits
After just a year of wedded bliss (and an engagement that reportedly lasted twice as long), the former Mad About You star and her Emmy-winning man of many voices have split up, their publicists confirm.
Azaria's publicist, Stan Rosenfield, says they've been living apart for several months, and the decision was mutual. "They remain good friends," he says. He refused to comment on whether a divorce is in the works.
The news confirms what E! Online gossip-monger Ted Casablanca first acknowledged a month ago: That relations between the pair had cooled since they exchanged vows last July.
Hunt, 37, who won a Best Actress Oscar for her role in 1997's As Good As It Gets, and Azaria, 36, whose screen credits include Mystery Men and Cradle Will Rock, tied the knot in a private ceremony at their home last year, after reportedly getting engaged in the fall of 1997.
Hunt's career dates back to the age of 10, but is best known for her Emmy-winning role opposite Paul Reiser on NBC's Mad About You, playing the marital-minded Jamie Buchman. Her big-screen resume includes 1996's Twister and 1992's The Waterdance.
Azaria, meanwhile, has gone from being the Emmy-winning voice of Simpsons characters like Moe the bartender and Chief Wiggum, to the Emmy-nominated costar of ABC's tear-jerking TV movie, Tuesdays With Morrie.
