Or to have an extra set of hands to carry the groceries mom wanted from the store. Whichever.

So, who's the kid getting an early lesson from his movie-star dad in the rules of the road?

This family doesn't always travel in Pax, er, packs.

Sure enough, that's Pax Jolie-Pitt joining dad Brad Pitt on a trip to Gelson's market in Los Feliz, Calif.

The 8-year-old and his pops left the born-to-be-wild biker gear at home, instead opting for lightweight layers to shield themselves from L.A.'s most-unwintery 75-degree sunshine.

And here's hoping they're wearing a little SPF to avoid a burn after riding.
