George Michael's Fan Whammy
To paraphrase Wham!, George Michael wishes one ardent admirer would just go-go away.
A British woman is reportedly undergoing psychiatric evaluation at a London hospital this week after being arrested a second time for allegedly harassing the pop star. According to the Mirror, doctors will soon decide whether the fan in question, Lucy Nowak, is mentally competent to stand trial.
The 29-year-old has twice broken into the singer's English home--with the most recent intrusion happening Nov. 4.
The woman was first arrested Oct. 27 for making herself at home inside the 41-year-old Wham!ster's abode.
She reportedly stole a book from Michael's mansion, but he "did not wish to pursue the burglary matter," London police said at the time. However, the police noted that the Grammy-winning artist did "report harassment from the same woman."
According to some U.K. reports, Michael has been inundated with disturbing emails from the woman.
After her initial arrest last month, she was ordered not to contact Michael or go within 100 meters of his residences.
But she was found getting cozy in the singer's London digs a week later.
She managed to elude authorities for the better part of the month, but the Mirror says she was finally taken into custody and remanded to the Highgate Mental Health Centre in North London.
Michael, who announced earlier this year that he is quitting the corporate recording biz, has had his share of fanatics. He claimed that a woman hid under his floorboards for four days last year.
