More from The Awful Truth

In the case of CNN's Roland Martin and his recent Twitter scandal, we have to admit: We're a little relieved our readers aren't making the decisions at CNN.

Because, although CNN has ultimately made the decision to suspend Martin from air, the majority of you readers believed Martin's comments were not anti-gay in the first place.

Uh, we're having a little déjà vu...

Shocker! Bill O'Reilly Defends Ellen DeGeneres, Calls Million Moms Boycott a "Witchhunt"

Ellen DeGeneres has an unlikely ally in...Bill O'Reilly?

In a segment on The O'Reilly Factor last night, the Fox News pundit surprisingly stood up for the openly gay comedian and talk show host against the conservative group One Million Moms, which is organizing a boycott against JCPenney for hiring DeGeneres as as spokeswoman.

Here's what he had to say in a segment with guest Sandy Rios, a Fox News contributor who supported the Million Moms' anti-gay stance in the name of "traditional values."

Poll: Should CNN Fire Roland Martin?

More from The Awful Truth

Yesterday was such a great day for the LGBT community, what with a Federal California court declaring Prop 8 unconstitutional, that we didn't want to ruin it with anti-gay biz courtesy of CNN commentator Roland Martin.

We've made up our minds about the sitch, but, we find this gay-baiting (and gay-bashing) to be particularly rich right in the middle of The Help and all of its civil-rights-minded glory doing so well at awards shows and at the box office. What about the civil rights of gays?

Ellen DeGeneres has a bit of a bone to pick with the "haters" that comprise One Million Moms.

Following the overturning of Proposition 8 Monday (which originally banned gay marriage in California), the daytime talk show host shared her excitement over the ruling and sounded off about the conservative group's beef with her new JCPenney partnership while she was at it.

So what did Ellen say?

Welcome, Roland Martin, to the land of people in the public eye who have learned the hard way that what they write on Twitter has consequences.

Lucky for him, the CNN contributor and TV One host doesn't appear to be getting fired from any of his gigs, but that's exactly what the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation wanted after Martin tweeted a bad-on-multiple-levels joke in response to David Beckham's Super Bowl underwear commercial.

After an initial attempt to explain his crass comment, Martin offered up a lengthier statement late Monday:

California love and equality for all!

On Tuesday, a federal appeals court in San Francisco ruled that Proposition 8, a measure to ban same-sex marriages in California, was a violation of the U.S. Constitution. (The Golden State had allowed same-sex marriages, but Prop 8 passed with 52% of the vote in 2008, which brought an end to the practice.)

Celebs couldn't have been happier by the court's progressive decision and took to Twitter to express their excitement…

Miley Cyrus has had to defend her share of photographs over the years.

But she honestly didn't expect the backlash that occurred last summer when she tweeted a picture of an equals sign newly tattooed on her finger, along with the post, "ALL LOVE is equal."

"A lot of people mocked me—they said, 'What happened to you? You used to be a Christian girl!' And I said, 'Well, if you were a true Christian, you would have your facts straight. Christianity is about love,'" the teen star wrote in an article for Glamour.com.

So, what brought her to address the controversy again now?

Wrong, believe it or not.

30 Rock's Alec Baldwin: Republicans Are "In for a Very Tough Time!"

Alec Baldwin John Shearer/WireImage
More from The Awful Truth

"You think I have an astute view of politics?" Alec Baldwin asked us backstage after we told the SAG Award winner for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy series exactly that. "That's the funniest thing I've ever heard!"

Well, it's not that funny. The 30 Rock star was at one point considering running for mayor of NYC, after all. Which is why we wanted to know his—yes, astute—opinion on the current state of presidential politics:
