Gary Collins Sent to Slammer

No more bonus rounds for Gary Collins.

The veteran TV personality was sentenced to four days in jail and was placed on four years' probation Thursday for his no-contest plea for drunken-driving charges stemming from an October bust.

He will be able to select his own slammer, à la Kiefer Sutherland, who checked into Glendale City Jail Wednesday evening.

Van Nuys Superior Court Commissioner Rebecca Omens ordered Collins to surrender by Jan. 10 to start serving his time.

In addition to the lockup time, for which he must foot the bill, the 69-year-old Collins was also fined $500, sentenced to 100 hours' community service, ordered to attend 26 Alcoholics Anonymous meetings (going at least twice a week) and complete an 18-month alcohol-education program, per  the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office. He was given a month to submit proof of his enrollment.

Omens, the same commissioner who oversaw Britney Spears' summer hit-and-run case, also ordered Collins to pay civil restitution to the victims of the smashup.

The Airport thesp was arrested in the L.A. suburb of Sherman Oaks on Oct. 23, after an 89-year-old driver failed to yield to oncoming traffic and turned into Collins' vehicle, causing him to lose control of his Ford Explorer and plow into two parked cars.

When cops arrived on the scene, they detected alcohol on the Circus of the Stars star's breath and administered several field sobriety tests, which Collins flubbed. He was released shortly after on $40,000 bail and two days later checked into a 60-day treatment facility.

Two days after that, on Oct. 29, he was formally charged with two misdemeanor counts of driving under the influence and driving with a blood-alcohol level above 0.08 percent. His arraignment, originally scheduled to take place last month, was postponed until he had completed rehab.
