Garth Brooks has friends in high places—President Barack Obama.
The country superstar paid a visit yesterday to the White House and, more specifically the Oval Office, to receive a special "Grammy on the Hill Award" honoring his work on behalf of recording artists
In turn, the hitmaker came bearing a gift of his own, presenting Obama with the Grammy he won in 2007 for Best Spoken Word Album for his audiobook The Audacity of Hope.
A group of congressmen later joined CBS News' Bob Schieffer and tipped their hat to Brooks with a rendition of his 1990 classic "Friends in Low Places."
Pretty fitting, given Congress' approval rating these days.
