Furry Harry Potter Star Is Up for Adoption!

Harry Potter, Padfoot, Dog

What happened to man's best friend?!

Berry, the German Shepherd that "played" Padfoot, the animagus that Gary Oldman's Sirius Black converted into whose presence at first terrified, then comforted, Daniel Radcliffe's young wizard in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, is in need of a good home.

Why is this cuddly master thespian up for adoption, you ask?

According to Britain's Sunday Express, Berry's owner, stuntman Paul Thompson, says that he is spending too much time away from home for work these days to properly look after the 10-year-old dog and his longtime mate, a 13-year-old German shepherd-Labrador mix named Porridge.

Thompson arranged for the dogs to be fostered by German Shepherd Dog Rescue to prepare them for their next home.

"I love people and my best friend is Porridge who is 13 human years and who I live with," reads the "first-person" essay penned on behalf of Berry on the adoption website. "Porridge has also been in some films. Both of us are a bit wobbly in our older years but we still love life."

We wholeheartedly hope that both pups end up in a great home and continue on together for a long time!
