Foxy Not Biting on Nail Deal

Foxy Brown is not backing down when it comes to getting nailed over her purported reaction to a botched manicure bill.

Back in Manhattan Criminal Court Friday, the rapper turned down a plea deal of 10 days of community service stemming from her alleged beatdown of two salon employees at Manhattan's Bloomie Nails last August.

Brown, 25, is facing misdemeanor charges of assault, attempted assault and harassment stemming from the supposed scuffle, which allegedly occurred after she arrived at the salon to get a manicure and pedicure in preparation for the MTV Video Music Awards.

But when things didn't go according to her plans, the hip-hopster, whose real name is Inga Marchand, reportedly showed her claws and came out swinging.

According to the criminal complaint filed by cuticle groomers Myoung Yi and Sun Ji Song, Brown arrived at Bloomie too close to closing time for her manicure to be completed and only received a pedicure.

When presented with her bill, Brown tried to flee the salon in lieu of paying, according to the court filing. Yi and Song tried to bar her path and something of a brawl allegedly ensued.

Per the complaint, Brown whacked one technician with her cell phone and kicked and punched another with a closed fist, causing "bruising and swelling to the face, as well as substantial pain."

For her part, Brown denies throwing any punches. The problem arose, she said, because the salon attempted to charge her for both a manicure and pedicure, despite the fact that only her toenails were attended to.

The rapper pleaded not guilty to the charges in April and turned down a previous plea bargain in May involving probation in exchange for pleading guilty to reduced charges.

"I have confidence in the criminal justice system. I am confident that I will be exonerated," Brown said in May.

The Chyna Doll rapper has claimed that she is being targeted because of her wealth and fame. Her lawyer, Joseph Tacopina, has even suggested that the nail technicians manufactured their own injuries in an attempt to bring his client down.

"She didn't commit any misdemeanor," Tacopina told the AP on Friday. "That's the bottom line."

Brown is due back in court on Sept. 22 for the next nailbiting round of proceedings.
