BURNING PARIS: Nicole Richie telling Jane magazine she will not reconcile with her Simple Life costar Paris Hilton. No word yet on the fate of the reality show, which is due to begin filming its fourth season Nov. 1.

GOING TO HELL: Doom grossing $15.4 million in its opening weekend to top the box-office charts. However, it was a grim weekend for the movies, with overall revenue down a whopping 27 percent compared to last year.

BAD MOOD? Reps for Gabrielle Union calling on celebrity boycott of Hollywood's club Mood after the owner allegedly canceled the actress' birthday party because she's African American. The owner calls the allegations "slanderous" and is threatening legal action.

PHOTO FLAP: Britney Spears and Kevin Federline threatening legal action against anyone who publishes a series of pictures recently taken of them with their newborn son at a private photo shoot. A Spears fansite has apologized for running the photos.

CLOSE CALL: Cam'ron shot and wounded early Sunday in a carjacking in Washington, D.C. The New York rapper was hit by a single bullet in both arms and is expected to recover.

WILD AND CRAZY HONOR: Steve Martin receiving the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor, comedy's most prestigious prize, Saturday at a ceremony attended by Tom Hanks, Lily Tomlin, Diane Keaton, Martin Short and Paul Simon.

COURTING VICTORY: A Los Angeles judge on Thursday ruling in favor of trouble-prone actor Tom Sizemore and giving prosecutors 30 days to present evidence to uphold his 2003 conviction for battering ex-girlfriend Heidi Fleiss. Sizemore claimes Fleiss lied on the stand and made up evidence.

LIVE FROM MATERNITY LEAVE Saturday Night Live star Tina Fey returning to work this weekend after taking maternity leave following the birth of her daughter, Alice.

OH, BABY: Speaking of maternity leave, Celine Dion, 37, plans to have a second child through in vitro fertilization once her contract with Caesar's Palace ends in 2007.

CODA: Grammy-winning jazz legend Shirley Horn died Thursday in Washington, D.C., of complications from diabetes. She was 71.
