IDYLLIC RATINGS: Almost 35 million viewers tuning in for last Tuesday's episode of American Idol on Fox, making it the week's most-watched program by a landslide. Wednesday's episode trailed slightly with 32.4 million viewers.
TAKING THE RAP: Great White's former tour manager agreeing to plead guilty to 100 counts of involuntary manslaughter stemming from a deadly 2003 fire in a Rhode Island nightclub in exchange for a sentence of no more than 10 years behind bars.

SIMPLY AMAZING: CBS announcing the identities of the 11 teams competing in The Amazing Race 9, which kicks off with a two-hour premiere Feb. 28. Racers include mother-daughter duo Wanda and Desiree; lifelong friends John and Scott; and couple Yolanda and Ray.
TREASURE HUNT: Mark Burnett teaming with AOL to create Gold Rush!, a reality treasure hunt featuring contestants searching for hidden riches across the United States, aided by clues placed throughout the AOL network on sites including MovieFone.com, MapQuest.com and AIM.com.
