MAYBE THEY'LL CLONE HIM? After Santa Barbara police raided Michael Jackson's Neverland Ranch Friday, the singer met with authorities to provide a DNA sample, according to the Santa Barbara News Press. Prosecutors would not say why the sample was taken.
KENNEDY CENTER KUDOS: Warren Beatty, Elton John, Ossie Davis, Ruby Dee, Star Wars conductor John Williams and opera diva Joan Sutherland the recipients of the 27th annual Kennedy Center Honors Sunday for their contributions to the arts.
ABOUT TIME: Barring any last-minute delays due to Robert Blake's lawyer's stolen computer, the actor's long-in-the-works murder trial is set to begin Monday morning with opening arguments.
TRIPLE TREASURE TROVE: For the third week in a row Nicolas Cage's National Treasure topped the weekend box office, earning an estimated $17.1 million to became the 18th film this year to coin more than $100 million. The only new movie in the top 10 was Closer, debuting in sixth place in limited release.
HOLIDAY TUNES: "The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting On an Open Fire," written by Robert Wells and Mel Tormé, topping the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers' annual list of the Top 25 most-performed holiday songs.
GAME, SET AND MATCH: CNBC pulling the plug on McEnroe, the low-rated talk show hosted by former tennis great John McEnroe, and replace it with The Big Deal with Donnie Deutsch.
DIAPER DUTY: Laura Dern and fiancé Ben Harper welcomed a baby girl on Sunday in Los Angeles, her rep confirmed. The tyke weighed in at six pounds and two ounces. The couple also has a three-year-old son.
SPLITSVILLE: Julia Sorkin, the wife of Emmy-winning West Wing creator Aaron Sorkin, filing for divorce from her husband after nine years together. The couple has a four-year-old daughter.
GETTING HIS STAR: Kevin Kline received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Friday.
PEOPLE POWER: Shrek 2, Fahrenheit 9/11, The Incredibles and Spider-Man 2 named as the film nominees for the People's Choice Awards. Winners will be announced Jan. 9 on CBS.
