BUILDING SUSPENSE? Trickster David Copperfield taken to a New York hospital Friday after collapsing during rehearsals for his Tornado of Fire TV special. His rep says the illusionist hadn't slept in two days and was suffering "extreme exhaustion." Copperfield, 44, is expected to fully recover and do his trick as scheduled on Tuesday.
THE DOCTOR IS OUT: Paramount announced Friday that its controversial Dr. Laura TV talk show has been canceled after just one season. The final episode was taped this week and the show will likely run through the fall.
ROTTEN APPLE: After five weeks of dismal ratings against NBC powerhouse ER, CBS has indefinitely pulled the cop drama Big Apple from its Thursday night schedule.
BACK IN CUSTODY: Former "Hollywood Madam" Heidi Fleiss arrested again, this time on suspicion of violating the terms of her supervised probation by using methamphetamine. A court date has not been set.
HEARTBREAK HOTEL: Aspiring singer and twice-married daughter of the King of Rock 'n' Roll, Lisa Marie Presley, splitting with her rock musician fiancé, John Oszajca, but the couple remain "very good friends."
