Fighting Global Warming, One Drink at a Time
VeeV
From the emerald carpet to Wendie Malick's lime turtleneck, green was all the rage at last night's 17th Annual Environmental Media Awards. E!'s very own funnyman Joel McHale hosted the show, whose star-studded lineup included Ugly Betty's Ana Ortiz and Michael Urie, Amber Tamblyn and Rosario Dawson. Pre- and postshow, guests bid at a silent auction while enjoying organic fare and cocktails.
My fave elixir was a strawberry mojito-like concoction called Joie de VeeV. The main ingredient, VeeV, is the world's first açai spirit. The Brazilian berry brings antioxidants to your cocktail experience, and the added prickly-pear juice is said to reduce hangovers! Even better? One dollar from every bottle sold goes straight to replenishing the Amazonian Rainforest through VeeV's charitable partners Rainforest Action Network and Sambazon's Sustainable Açai Project. I snagged the recipe, so you can save the planet and avoid hangovers, too.
While you're sipping, check out our photo gallery from the event—and come back tomorrow for full green scoopage.
