The couple will be honored at the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center's 40th Anniversary Gala in November.
"To be recipients of this award on the 40th anniversary of the LA Gay & Lesbian Center? We are very, very honored," Burtka tells me. "It should be a great night."
The event's theme is "40 Years of Family." Harris and Burtka are parents of son Gideon Scott and daughter Harper Grace, twins who turn one-year-old next month. The couple got engaged in June after gay marriage was legalized in New York.
"I just hope we can keep our speech short," Harris said. I don't know how long the valet attendants can entertain the babies without a major meltdown."
We'd be more than happy to babysit. Just let us know if you need us.
