Fox Pulls Hurricane Episodes of Family Guy, The Cleveland Show and American Dad

Family Guy FOX

On Sunday, Fox's "Animation Domination" was supposed to be a crossover event, with a hurricane sweeping through Family Guy, American Dad and The Cleveland Show. But in wake of the deadly storms that ripped through the South this week, Fox decided to pull the episodes from the schedule. Repeats of the shows will air in their place, with the crossover event shifted to next season.

"In light of the recent storms that have affected the nation, Fox has decided to postpone the crossover episodes that were originally scheduled to air this Sunday," the network said in a statement. Seth McFarlane and his team had written the episodes over a year ago, but they agreed to hold them after consulting with Fox.

McFarlane is known for weaving controversial plotlines into his shows, but in this case he was willing to keep from stirring the pot.

Family Guy's Head Guy Tunes Up Big Band

FAMILY GUY, Stewie FOX

Frank Sinatra, watch out! A certain family guy is going swinging.

Seth MacFarlane, the mastermind behind the irreverent Fox 'toon, revealed on last night's Tonight Show that he's prepping a big band album.

MacFarlane says Universal Republic Records came to him with an offer to do a recording, probably based on his experience poking fun at the genre on Family Guy, "and I took it."

Fans can expect "swing arrangements of classic tunes. We kind of deliberately touched stuff that the Deans [Martin] and the Franks [Sinatra] and the Sammys [Davis Jr.] didn't do yet," MacFarlane said, before grabbing the mic and offering up a rendition of "Cream in My Coffee" backed by The Tonight Show band.

It's another thing he can add to the Family Guy Live show the next time he's in Vegas.

UPDATE!

You Bet Sarah Palin Has a Problem With Family Guy's "Down Syndrome Girl"!

Seth MacFarlane is no Rush Limbaugh, apparently.

Still seething from White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel's utterance of the word "retard" during a meeting, the former governor of Alaska has lashed out at "another kick in the gut," this one from the folks over at Family Guy.

They really outdid themselves Sunday with the episode Extra-Large Medium, which features Chris Griffin dating a girl with Down syndrome, and Stewie performing an entire musical number called "Down Syndrome Girl." (Yeah, it's pretty viral.)

But that's not even the part that has Palin (whose youngest son, Trig, has Down syndrome) and her eldest daughter, Bristol, so furious.
