That Fake Kristen Stewart Story...You Didn't Fall for It, Did You?

Always read the fine print. Especially when the bold print is so shocking. And poorly worded.

Conspiracy Corner, Comic Con 2009 Brick

This link making the rounds today told a terrible Twilight tale: "Actress Kristen Stewart hospitalized after traffic altercation."

If you asked, "What the what is a traffic altercation?" you were justified. If you called, "Fake!" you were right.

The story is and was nothing but the by-product of Fake a Wish's evil-genius Celeb Fake News Generator. (And, just so you know, E! News contacted Stewart's reps who, yes, confirmed the fakeness of the Celeb Fake News Generator's work.)

In the past, the site's tool has sent Beyoncé, Smallville's Tom Welling, Tom Green and who knows how many more notables to the hospital with injuries suffered in a "traffic altercation" in star-crossed Fullerton, Calif.

The first tip-off that this article is bogus (assuming you weren't aware of the previous versions)? The Golden State Regional Hospital, which supposedly takes in all these battered and bruised celebs, doesn't exist. At least not in Southern California.

The second tip-off? The disclaimer at the bottom of the page, the fine print of which says, in part, "Any reference to specific individuals has been 100% fabricated by web site visitors."

Yup, you, too, can wreak havoc upon Hollywood. And you have. Repeatedly. Nice work.
