Everyone Loves a Bargain, Even Madonna
Madonna wants to dress you up in her clothes.
The Material Girl has teamed with H&M to launch her new M by Madonna clothing line, the affordable fashion chain announced Thursday.
Madonna collaborated with Margareta van den Bosch, H&M's head of design, to create the line, which will be launched in March.
"I've made no secret of my love for fashion and trends," Madonna said in a statement. "Working with Margareta and H&M was an exciting and new creative challenge for me. I'm really happy with the results and look forward to wearing M by Madonna, along with the rest of the world."
The company said the line would reflect the singer's "timeless, unique and always glamorous style."
"Madonna has an impressive feel for fashion and trends. She was extraordinarily style conscious, passionate and was involved in even the smallest details of every design," van den Bosch said of working with the Queen of Pop.
Madonna and H&M previously worked together when the Swedish retailer provided the singer and her entourage with an offstage wardrobe during her Confessions tour.
Other fashionistas who have collaborated with the chain on collections include Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney and Viktor & Rolf.
The H&M line represents Madonna's latest attempt to reach out to the masses.
Last month, the multihyphenate entertainer appeared on the Home Shopping Network to pitch her latest children's book, The English Roses: Too Good to Be True.
Meanwhile, Madonna and Guy Ritchie remain embroiled in the process of adopting 14-month-old David Banda from Malawi.
A judge ruled last month that a coalition of human rights groups could be a party to the assessment of the couple's fitness to adopt the child.
The first evaluation is expected to take place in May.
