Eva's Deeper Side
Jack Guy for Parade Magazine
She's a red carpet diva and a spitfire on TV...but Eva Longoria has more going on than a rockin' bod and good sense of style.
The Desperate Housewives actress talked in depth to Parade magazine for this Sunday's issue about her mentally challenged sister and the importance of giving back.
"Liza [her sister] was a role model to get me ready for life in Hollywood," reveals Eva. "You don't take health for granted. You don't take life for granted. It seems so insignificant to go, 'Darn it, I didn't get that movie role,' or 'Darn it, so-and-so is wearing the same dress as me to the Emmys.' I didn't know there was another way. I thought everyone should be sensitive and somewhat unselfish."
We love her attitude. And it gets better, check it out:
- "It's just in my nature to be cheerful...I don't try to be that way, but I've learned there's no better medicine than laughing."
- "I'm not saying people don't need to take moments to mourn a bad
situation. You acknowledge the pain, but then you get over it. I'm a big believer in that. It's about moving on, moving on." - "You can never think, I'm not rich. I'm not famous. What could I possibly do? What makes the world go 'round is everyday people."
That does it. Move over, Dr. Phil, Eva needs an inspirational talk show of her own.
