Emmy Rossum Slows Us Down
There's always been something a little grating about Emmy Rossum's presence. Maybe it can be attributed to her Upper East Side prep-school upbringing—she really does seem like a real-life Gossip Girl character.
Either way, the Phantom of the Opera star continues to impress us more with her good looks than her body of work. She recently decided to swap movies for music, and the fruits of her labor were released today as a music video.
Set to her single "Slow Me Down," the song sounds exactly like Imogen Heap's "Hide and Seek" and feels like something we would hear in a CW episode during a tragic montage where characters are dying and crying.
She looks flawless and fresh-faced in the video, but her strained facial expressions bring back all the bad memories of Phantom. The whole thing looks like something we've seen before—girl rolling in bed, girl running in slow motion, girl in pool, girl overwhelmed by traffic.
But maybe we're just jaded. Does anyone want to stick up for the actress turned vocalist as the real deal? Anyone?
