Ed McMahon Sued Again

Sounds like Ed McMahon might be in jeopardy.

The venerable second banana, who has been struggling with a host of financial difficulties lately, just got more bad news. The Griffin Group, the investment and management arm of the late Merv Griffin, is suing the 85-year-old and his wife, Pamela, for failing to pay back a $100,000 loan. (View the lawsuit.)

Though he gained fame as a singer and talk-show host, Griffin, who died in 2007, amassed a fortune creating game shows such as Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune, as well as amassing sizable real estate holdings, including the Beverly Hills Hotel.

Griffin Group attorneys filed the lawsuit Sept. 18 in Los Angeles Superior Court claiming fraud, deceit and negligent misrepresentation among other causes of action.

According to the lawsuit, the McMahons had an open-book account with Griffin and during four years ran up an account of “goods, wares, merchandise and/or services” that totaled $100,000. The Griffin Group states that the amount owed by the McMahons is still outstanding.

McMahon's representative Howard Bragman responded to E! News' request for comment by saying, "Anybody interested in a great house in The Summit?"

There was no immediate comment from the Griffin Group.
