Double Delivery for Dennis Quaid

Yours, Mine and Ours star Dennis Quaid welcomed some of his own in Santa Monica Thursday, as he and wife Kimberly heralded the birth of twins Thomas Boone and Zoe Grace.

"God has definitely blessed us," the parents gushed in a statement.

Thomas Boone was born at 8:26 a.m., two minutes ahead of his sister. He tipped the scales at 6 pounds, 12 ounces, while Zoe Grace came in at an appropriately more petite 5 pounds, 9 ounces.

The double delivery came courtesy of a gestational carrier, aka a surrogate mother, the identity of whom the Quaids have opted not to reveal. However, the 53-year-old actor and his 35-year-old wife have confirmed that they are the biological parents.

The twins are the first children for the couple. Quaid also has a 15-year-old son, Jack Henry, with ex-wife Meg Ryan.

The Quaids first met in March 2003 at an Austin dinner party thrown by a mutual friend. They tied the knot just over a year later, on July 4, 2004.

The actor may have more time than expected to devote to diaper duty.

While he has wrapped production on a handful of films, his next project, Shame on You, a musical biopic of swing king Spade Cooley, may lapse into an extended period of preproduction due to the writers' strike. Quaid is due to serve triple duty on the film, writing, directing and starring alongside Greg Kinnear.
