Don Johnson Hit with Sex-Assault Suit

Don Johnson's being accused of grabbing more than a spicy tuna roll at a San Francisco sushi joint.

A woman has filed a lawsuit against the former Nash Bridges star for allegedly groping her during a January encounter at the upscale Mas Sake sushi bar.

The woman, who remains unidentified in court papers, initially brought the incident to the attention of city police and the local D.A., who investigated her claims but declined to press charges against the actor, who vehemently denied the allegations through his publicist and lawyer.

Calling herself a big Miami Vice fan in court papers, the woman says she recognized Johnson and introduced herself to him. That's when the actor allegedly asked if he could touch her, according to a report in the San Francisco Chronicle.

"The plaintiff, believing [Johnson] was going to give her a hug, said, 'Yes,' " reads the suit, a copy of which was obtained by the Chronicle. "Instead of giving her a hug, [Johnson] then grabbed the plaintiff's genitalia. He then said, 'You like that, don't you?' and left for his table."

Later in the evening, the woman headed to the restroom and inadvertently wandered by Johnson's table, at which point he supposedly grabbed her arm and pulled her toward him, rudely propositioning her.

The suit, filed Wednesday in San Francisco, charges the actor with sexual battery, assault and intentional infliction of emotional distress. The plaintiff asks for unspecified monetary damages.

Coincidentally, Johnson's publicist predicted back in February that the woman initally made her complaint to police because she was planning to sue all along. "It is my feeling that this is all being done to set up my client for some kind of civil action in an attempt to get money," Elliot Mintz told the Chronicle.

This isn't the first time the ex-Miami Vice-man has found himself in the middle of a he-said/she-said. In 1997, Johnson was slapped with sexual-harassment lawsuits by two female employees who claimed they were fired after dissing him on the set of Nash Bridges, which was filmed in San Francisco, where Johnson resides. The suits came just three weeks after the actor sued them for defamation and conspiracy to commit extortion and for spreading rumors that he still had a drinking problem. (He's a recovering alcoholic.)

The actor denied making any advances and said he fired them after learning that the two had planned to demand more than $1.5 million from him or else go to the media with allegations of sexual abuse. Both sides eventually settled out of court.
