DMX's Ruff Landing

DMX has gone and pulled a Snoop Dogg.

Just three weeks after the Doggfather was arrested at London's Heathrow airport for his role in violent melee, DMX was collared at the same hub Saturday and accused of making verbal threats against cabin crew on an inbound flight.

The trouble-prone DMX, whose real name Earl Simmons, was taken into custody upon arriving from New York after the plane's captain alerted police at Heathrow that the rap star was causing a ruckus by refusing to buckle his seat belt and then launching into a verbal tirade at flight attendants.

Without identifying him by name, per British police policy, authorities said a 35-year-old male was given a caution and released. The wrist-slap doesn't include any fines or other penalties, but, the police warned, will be placed on his permanent record.

There was no immediate comment from the DMX camp.

(Snoop Dogg received a similar punishment last Wednesday after admitting his part in a brawl involving his posse and airport police after the rapper's entourage was denied entry into British Airways' first-class lounge.)

While he's off the hook in London, this isn't the first time the X man has been targeted by airport officials for some unruly behavior.

In 2004, the Yonkers native was busted for plowing his SUV through a security gate at New York's JFK Airport and then telling bystanders he was an undercover federal agent. DMX pleaded guilty and was initially sentenced to 60 days, but the judge tacked on an extra 10 after the hip-hopster showed up late to court. (He blamed his tardiness on an asthma attack; the judge didn't buy it.)

His extensive rap sheets also includes an arrest last year for driving with a suspended license in the Bronx after accidentally crashing his SUV into a car that in turn rammed a police cruiser. That incidend led to a brief jail term and a $500 fine.

After getting out of jail, the rapper-actor nixed an offer to join 50 Cent's G-Unit label and instead inked a three-album deal with Sony Urban aimed at softening his image.

Before taking his act to Europe, DMX threw a party at Sony's New York headquarters last Thursday to hype the upcoming release of Year of the Dog. Again, his first collection of new rhymes since 2003's Grand Champ. The new single, "Lord Give Me a Sign," is now out to radio stations and available for download at iTunes.
