Diddy: Making the Brood
Sean Combs may be going by Diddy for the time being, but he's adding to the ranks that call him Daddy.
The rap impresario and his girlfriend, Kim Porter, are expecting their second child together, People magazine was first to report Tuesday.
"Sean Combs and longtime girlfriend Kim Porter are happy to confirm that they are expecting their second child together. The couple is thrilled about the news," the rep said in a statement.
The duo are already the parents of eight-year-old Christian Casey Combs.
Combs also has a 12-year-old son, Justin, with ex-girlfriend Misa Hylton-Brim, who receives $19,000 a month in support payments from the hip-hopster.
Porter and Combs began dating in the '90s, back in the days when he was still known as Puff Daddy. They split in 1999 and Porter subsequently sued Combs to have him legally declared Christian's father--not that he ever denied paternity.
The couple reached a tentative settlement in the matter in 2001, with Combs agreeing to shell out upwards of $11,000 a month in child support. However, it took a threat of jail time to get the music mogul to show up in family court to finalize the deal in 2002.
Despite the drawn-out legal proceedings, Combs said there were no hard feelings between him and Porter.
"[Kim and I] have always been friends. We just had to go through the proper process," he told reporters at the time.
In 2003, the couple became more than friends, when they resumed their romantic relationship.
"My love life is straight. I'm back with Kim," Combs told People at the time.
In addition to his impending daddyhood, Combs is preparing to release his latest album, Press Play, in October. He also recently announced the launch of his own fragrance, Unforgiven.
To top it all off, Combs has been selected as one of the 2007 recipients of a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
We just wonder which of his many monikers he'll choose to be set in stone.
