Amber Portwood has been hospitalized after police responded to a call saying that the 21-year-old Teen Mom star was "depressed and threatening to end her life," E! News has confirmed.

So, what was her condition upon the cops' arrival?

"The victim, who did not appear to be injured, was transported to a local medical facility for further evaluation," according to the Anderson Police Department, which says responders showed up to Portwood's house at 11:34 a.m.

"The incident is considered a medical episode, and accordingly, no additional comment will be made by the Anderson Police Department," added spokesman Mitch Carroll.

According to Star, Portwood is currently being treated at St. Johns Hospital in Anderson, Ind.

So far, there's no official word on her condition, though she was reportedly alert enough to answer questions from hospital staffers: a source told the magazine that the MTV troublemaker admitted to ingesting pills.

A hospital rep would not comment on whether or not Portwood had been admitted, adding that if it is indeed a mental-health-related case, no information would be forthcoming.

"Our understanding is that Amber has been admitted to a local hospital but we have not been able to confirm the accuracy of any reports being circulated and are waiting for further details," read a statement from MTV to E! News. "Our thoughts are with her and we hope to hear more soon."

There was no immediate comment from Portwood's family members.

Star reports that baby daddy Gary Shirley had asked his mother to check in on Portwood after the on-off couple talked on the phone and he became concerned about Portwood's state of mind. Once inside the home, the source said Gary's mom found Portwood unconscious on the couch from an apparent overdose with some sort of cord around her neck.

Paramedics were immediately called.

Meawhile, in a cryptic message that may have something to do with the day's events, Shirley took to Twitter later in the day to clear the air about cheating allegations.

"Never cheated on Amber.. She may have thought I did, but haven't. I will always love and respect her even if we aren't together," Portwood's 300-pound ex-fiancé tweeted.

Ten minutes later, he added: "Due to recent events, it was best that Amber delete her Twitter...Appreciate all those who continue to support."

The report of Portwood's hospitalization comes just five days after the she pleaded guilty in an Indiana courtroom to two counts of felony domestic battery for allegedly roughing up Shirley last year.

Because she copped to the beatdown, the judge was lenient, giving her a suspended two-year sentence and placing her on two years' probation. The judge also lifted a no-contact order allowing her to see Shirley outside the presence of their 2-year-old daughter, Leah.
