Did Nicolas Cage Rage Strike Mardi Gras?

Nicolas Cage, Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans First Look Pictures

Watch out, New Orleans! Hurricane Katrina might pale in comparison to the wrath of Nicolas Cage.

The star of The Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call—New Orleans got into a Mardi Gras dust-up that ended with a broken window and a visit from Crescent City cops.

But did the Oscar winner get busted?

MORE: And the award for the biggest bomb goes to...Nic Cage?

Nope. Cage managed to avoid the cuffs. But it was apparently a close call.

A spokesman for Big Easy police confirmed to E! News that officers responded to a call at Stella Restaurant at approximately 10:45 p.m. Friday night. By the time officers arrived, however, the incident had already been sorted out.

"Upon arrival at the location the restaurant had already informed us that they had already taken care of whatever issue had happened, if anything happened at all," said the spokesman. "They did not want to make any formal complaint. When our officers got there, because of Mr. Cage's popularity, our officers did escort Mr. Cage back to his hotel but there was no complaint made about anything. One window was broken."

NOPD would not confirm who called the police or who broke the window (guess they haven't seen the video "Nic Cage Losing His S—t!").

The restaurant has declined to comment.

Guess what happens at Mardi Gras, stays at Mardi Gras.
