Dennis Rodman, Pro Wrestler

Since NBA Commissioner David Stern has threatened to permanently ban Dennis Rodman the next time he whacks somebody below the belt, the Chicago Bulls star has been quickly pursuing other outlets where he can get paid to belt, kick and otherwise pound people.

Next month, Dennis is a one-man wrecking crew on the big screen, teaming with Jean-Claude Van Damme in Double Team--Rodman's movie debut. Of course, if you're like us, you'll have a hard-time swallowing the former Detroit Piston Bad Boy as a good guy.

Don't worry. The neon-haired, cross-dressing anti-clown of pro basketball has just inked a deal to become a professional wrestler. That means Rodman, who'll be wrestling as "The Worm," will be able to give a guy a chokehold while playing a sport without worrying about pesky technical fouls, fines and suspensions. And, as a bonus, fans can watch without risking physical harm.

World Championship Wrestling has scheduled a pay-per-view card on July 13 that will feature Rodman and Hulk Hogan--the sport's biggest draw--as tag team partners. Hogan now presents himself as the villainous "Hollywood Hulk Hogan." The Worm and his antihero mates, the New World Order, will then continue grappling all summer, presumably until basketball training camp resumes.

Maybe if we're lucky, and Rodman makes a splash as a mat-man, they'll keep him in the steel cage for good.
