Dennis Rodman Busted...Again!
The Worm was picked up Wednesday in Costa Mesa, California, for investigation of drunken driving and has been released on $2,500 bail.
According to Costa Mesa Police Department Sgt. Loren Wyrick, security guards near a local bar notified the police when they saw the 38-year-old ex-baller leave the bar in a Bentley after drinking heavily, accompanied by two passengers--one of whom was not wearing a seatbelt.
"It was not [ex-wife] Carmen Electra," reports Sgt. Don Holford, who says the identities of Rodman's male and female car-mates have not yet been revealed.
"Based upon the fact that he'd been seen drinking very heavily, and in California you have to have a seatbelt for all of your passengers, they pulled him over," says Wyrick. "Officers then noticed that he had symptoms consistent with drinking."
After he failed a field balance test, officers arrested Rodman on suspicion of drunken driving and tossed him in the slammer. The former rebounding champ was bailed out last night. Again "not by Carmen Electra."
Blood-alcohol tests are pending, and a court date has been set for January 22.
Rodman's camp has not yet been reached for comment.
Last night's legal snafu marks Rodman's third arrest in the past four months, though charges were either dropped or never filed in the previous cases.
Most recently, Rodman was picked up with his aforementioned ex-wife Electra. The on-again, off-again duo were arrested in Miami last month for beating each other up. Prosecutors later dropped the misdemeanor battery charges.
Rodman's pro-hoops career ended in April when he was cut by the Los Angeles Lakers after a tumultuous two-month tenure. While there, he took verbal shots at teammates, showed up late for practices, refused to re-enter basketball games and, perhaps most important, failed to produce on the court.
