He and Bergman, who have two children together, Jaden, 9, and Bella, 2, married in 2001 after less than a year of dating. Boreanaz admits that their marriage has had "fantastic moments" and "extremely rocky moments," just like in any other relationship.

In a revealing interview with TV Week, the Bones star calls his 2010 fling "a bonding experience, in the long run."

"In a sacred ground like marriage, you find yourself out of it at certain times for reasons unknown that can be destructive," says Boreanaz, 42. "There could be a demon that kind of comes out and overtakes you."
Boreanaz and Bergman took on those demons, and apparently it worked.
"Do I believe in giving up? No, I don't," Boreanaz says. "I'm a fighter. I'm a lover."
UPDATE: A rep for Boreanaz later said, "David did not talk directly to TV Week. His recent quotes were from a press conference on behalf of Bones and taken out of context."
