Dancing Without Louis?
Bob D'Amico/ABC
Will Louis van Amstel ever return to Dancing with the Stars?
I’m told the fresh-faced blond who’s most famous for being Lisa Rinna’s professional dancing partner in the second season of the hit ABC reality competition show will most likely take a pass again in the upcoming season.
Van Amstel was a regular on the show until last season, when he reportedly dropped out because all of the female celebrities were taller than him. He continued choreographing for the show.
His work last season earned him Dancing with the Stars' only Emmy nomination, for Outstanding Choreography. Others up for the Emmy are Wade Robson and Mia Michaels for their work on So You Think You Can Dance, and Rob Marshall and John DeLuca for Tony Bennett: An American Classic.
Sources told E! News yesterday that the celebrity contestants and their professional dancing partners will be announced later this month on Good Morning America. I’m told producers still haven’t made their final matches.

One rumored contestant is former 90210 Jennie Garth, and as I first reported, Aaron Carter was said to be in talks with producers to hit the dance floor.
A rep for the show declined to comment. Calls to van Amstel were not returned.
