Crudup Ditches Pregnant Parker
Billy Crudup and Mary-Louise Parker may have made it longer than most Tinseltown twosomes, but love, Hollywood-style, rarely lasts and neither have this longtime couple.
Crudup, of Almost Famous fame, has walked out on West Wing regular Parker, who's seven months pregnant with the couple's first child.
The two hooked up in 1996 while costarring in a stage revival of Bus Stop. They've been together ever since but never married.
Parker, a Tony winner, was previously linked to Timothy Hutton after the pair appeared together in 1991 in an off-Broadway production of Prelude to a Kiss.
Gossip rags are blaming the split on Crudup's burgeoning relationship with Claire Danes, his costar in the upcoming period piece Compleat Female Stage Beauty. He plays a 17th century out-of-work actor, she's his muse.
But Danes' publicist insists the pair "have been friends for 10 years and are not romantically involved."
Ditto Crudup's rep, who said, "They're old friends. Billy and Mary Louise have split up but that doesn't mean anybody else is involved."
Parker's publicist declined to comment on the cause of the breakup but said her client was busy doing press appearances for HBO's upcoming miniseries Angels in America and "taking care of herself and her soon to be child."
The actress, who made her mark in 1991's Fried Green Tomatoes, is also set to appear in the Michael Stipe-produced teen drama Saved in 2004.
Crudup, who broke into the biz with 1996's Sleepers, will star in Tim Burton's family drama Big Fish, coming to theaters December 10.
That's one holiday flick Parker's likely to avoid.
