Crisscrossing the Country: Mario, Ashley and Fergie

All eyes were on former Dancing with the Stars contestant Mario Lopez the other day when he hit Equinox Fitness in Miami's South Beach. The beautiful-bodied Lopez did some running on a treadmill and hit the free weights.

Speaking of Dancing with the Stars, the show’s cohost and my E! News pal, Samantha Harris, was feted with a baby shower on Saturday at the Silver Spoon BeachBody House event space in Malibu. DWTS contestants Laila Ali and Drew Lachey were among the guests chowing down on pizza, Pepsi and Anheuser-Busch beer. Silver Spoon gave Harris some Caden Lane bedding for the crib, while guests left with gift bags full of PureOlogy hair care and Avon's Mark cosmetics line.

Another baby shower took place the next day at the nearby LG House in Malibu for CAA agent Tracy Brennan, whose clients include Lindsay Lohan, Kate Beckinsale, Dane Cook and Aaron Eckhart. The menu included scones, croissants, muffins and custom chocolate lollipops decorated with a portrait of Brennan’s face.

On Friday night in Malibu, Heroes star Ali Larter hosted Svedka vodka’s book party for 2033: The Future of Misbehavior. But what we really wanted to know about were her fab bangles. “I stole them off my boyfriend’s mother in the limo,” Larter told us. “She had these Louis Vuitton bangles on, and I’m like, ‘They’re fabulous.’ So she said, ‘Wear ’em!’ ”

Oh, and speaking of vodka, it was New Zealand race-car driver Matt Halliday who brought over bottles of 42 Below vodka to Paris Hilton’s Saturday barbecue at her Malibu rental.

While Malibu was hopping with boldfaced names, Chicago was invaded by celebs this weekend for the Lollapalooza festivities.

Ashlee Simpson and her Fall Out Boy beau, Pete Wentz, shared kisses in the VIP room at Blender Sessions at the CKIN2U Music Lounge at the Hard Rock Hotel during the Polyphonic Spree gig. The two were also spotted having dinner on Saturday at China Grill. Simpson’s drink of choice? Johnny Walker Black with a splash of water.

Simpson’s ex Ryan Cabrera was also in the Windy City. He and his model girlfriend/granddaughter of Elvis Presley, Riley Keough, had dinner at Rockit Bar & Grill with the eatery’s owner, Billy Dec.

Hairspray hottie James Marsden hung out with actor bud Greg Bello at Chicago’s Martini Park. Their menu included salmon poppers, mac and cheese stix, sliders and satays.

Also in Chicago recently, but not for Lollapalooza, was Matthew Broderick. He and some friends had dinner at the bar at Le Colonial.

Now, back to Hollywood. Josh Duhamel and Fergie hit a Thursday performance of Wicked at the Pantages. I’m told they ducked out before the curtain call in order to avoid the mad rush of their fellow exiting—and presumably celeb-gawking—theatergoers.

Later that same night, I spotted Ashley Olsen applying some lip gloss in the lobby of the Chateau Marmont hotel after she stopped by the Lorac/Miss Davenporte Showstopper launch party. No biggie, except Olsen dropped the applicator, and she didn’t bother wiping it off before reapplying it.
