Jake Owen made sure Lacey Buchanan knows he can love her—and that he can commit!

The country singer proposed to his girlfriend Saturday during his annual benefit concert for his hometown of Vero Beach, Fla., a romantic moment to remember for 5,500 of their new best friends.

"Lacey is the answer to all of my prayers," Owen says. "She is an amazing person and I'm the luckiest guy in the world."

So, here's how the big moment went down...

The 30-year-old hitmaker popped the question onstage while he sang "Don't Think I Can't Love You."

"You're probably wondering where your ring is, right?" Owen asked Buchanan, before launching into the lyric, "I just said I can't buy you a big diamond ring or a big old house on the hill, but I promise you I'll love you forever and ever and ever."

Wait, so was his proposal a spur-of-the-moment idea?

"When I was onstage, it just hit me how many of our family members and friends were at the show," Owen says. "So I thought sharing that moment would mean a lot to everyone."

Buchanan, who met her future fiancé when she was in his video for "Eight Second Ride" off his 2009 album Easy Does It, is also from Florida.

"I'm a happy man. Life is complete," Owen, named Top New Male Vocalist in 2009 by the Academy of Country Music, tweeted yesterday. And surely that ring is on the way.
