Sorry, it's not a cruel joke.

Despite being seen today still wearing his wedding ring, the rumors of Heidi Klum and Seal separating have been confirmed, and who we thought was one of Hollywood's power couples really are splitting up. Sigh, we know.

Of course, the conversation of what will happen with their money and assets has already been addressed, and now we wonder how their separation will affect Seal's album sales for his latest release, Soul 2.

According to Billboard magazine editorial director Bill Werde, there might actually be an upside to this unfortunate news (at least when it comes to business).

"Personal lives can affect an artist's career," Werde tells E! News. "If you look at the year Chris Brown went through, you can see how worst-case scenarios can put a damper on a career. That's not really the case here with Seal.

In certain kinds of ways, this might only be good for the release of his album. There are certain platforms in this celebrity-driven world where booking an appearance for Seal becomes more interesting now because there's a celebrity divorce to discuss and not just a new Seal album."

But the question is, will he actually discuss his personal situation? Guess we'll find out when he appears on Ellen tomorrow.
