Colin's Sex Tape Restrained
Colin Farrell has succeeded in keeping his sex tape under wraps--for now.
The actor was granted a temporary restraining order Tuesday blocking former Playboy Playmate Nicole Narain from distributing a 15-minute video that shows the couple engaging in a steamy mattress romp.
The next hearing on the matter is scheduled for Aug. 10.
Farrell sued Narain on Monday, claiming that at the time they made the tape, about two and a half years ago, the twosome had agreed the tape was strictly for their own viewing pleasure.
According to his court documents (which are available for viewing at the Smoking Gun Website), the release of the video would cause irreparable damage to Farrell's career and reputation.
"Defendants' outrageous attempt to capitalize on the celebrity of plaintiff Colin Farrell...through their unauthorized commercial exploitation of the highly private and confidential videotape exceeds all bounds of common human decency," Farrell's lawsuit states.
In addition to the temporary restraining order, Farrell was seeking general and compensatory damages from Narain.
Created in friendlier days, the tape in question shows a camera-wielding Farrell focusing in on Narain's white cat and commenting, "Baby, you have the most beautiful p---y," according to the New York Post.
Narain, whose physical attributes include a tattoo on her rear and a pierced tongue, displays the latter for the lens. Farrell responds in kind, saying, "I could do this breakfast, lunch and dinner."
The duo then proceed to try out a variety of steamy sexual positions.
Per the lawsuit, Farrell's camp was contacted last Wednesday by one David Hans Schmidt, who claimed to represent Narain and said he was authorized to commercially exploit the tape.
Schmidt, whose name was also linked to wheelings and dealings surrounding Fred Durst's leaked sex tape, tried to set up a meeting with Farrell's people to discuss "commercialization of the videotape for profit," Farrell's suit states.
However, despite his man-about-town rep, the Alexander star was less than thrilled at the prospect of his privates becoming public, so he turned to the legal system for protection.
Farrell is just the latest addition to a long list of celebs who learned the hard way that videotaping their most intimate moments could come back to haunt them.
Ever since Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee's infamous boating adventure surfaced in wide release, increasing numbers of A-listers seem inclined to capture their randiest moments on video, despite the chance that said moments may wind up in the wrong hands.
While the distribution of unauthorized sex tapes has brought good fortune to certain famous folks (hello, Paris Hilton), others have found themselves in hot water as a result. (Hello, R. Kelly.)
Then there was Durst's sex tape, which elicited more of a "c'mon, man, nobody wants to see that!" reaction.
Though Farrell isn't interested in exploring the potential consequences of his sex tape, his lack of enthusiasm for starring in an amateur porno is probably unrelated to any insecurities he might have about the size of his manhood.
In the original cut of 2004's A Home at the End of the World, the actor appeared in a full-frontal nude scene that was later cropped to show him from the navel up because his massive member reportedly proved too distracting for test audiences.
