Coldplay, Bo Bice Rule Charts

Coldplay still owns the summer's most sizzling album. And Carrie Underwood still owns Bo Bice.

After selling more than 1 million copies in its first two weeks, Coldplay's X&Y pulled the trifecta, holding on to the top slot on the Billboard 200 for the third straight week. The disc sold 186,000 for the week ended Sunday, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Meanwhile, over on the singles chart, the American Idol-spawned "Inside Your Heaven" was tops for a second straight week. But this time, it was runner-up Bice's rendition that outsold all comers, moving 106,000. While Underwood's version slipped to second with 71,000 copies, she did sell more first-week copies (130,000) than her former TV rival. Bice and Underwood will go at it again on the album charts this fall, when their solo albums are due to drop.

As for the new albums making big splashes this week, Atlanta's Boyz N Da Hood nabbed the highest debut as their self-titled disc sold 101,000 copies at number five. Nicknamed the "NWA of the South," the four-person rap collective is the first release on P. Diddy's Bad Boy Entertainment since the company aligned with Warner Music Group. The group, which is also featured on the Hustle & Flow soundtrack, is currently tearing up rap radio with "Dem Boyz."

Dem Boyz were just the first of four Top 10 bows. Keyshia's Way It Is sold nearly 89,000 copies at number six. The Oakland native, who actually recorded with MC Hammer when she was just 12, currently benefits from the Kanye West-produced single, "I Changed My Mind."

Fans who couldn't get enough of "Hit That" and "Pretty Fly (For a White Guy)" helped propel the Offspring's Greatest Hits into the eight spot, selling 70,000 discs. The group, whose Smash reigns as the best-selling indie album of all time, is headlining this summer's Vans Warped Tour.

Birdman landed the fourth and final Top 10 bow, as nearly 65,000 copies of Fast Money flew the coop for a number nine opening. This marks the second solo disc by the Cash Money emcee.

Among the Top 10 holdovers, Mariah Carey's The Emancipation of Mimi jumped two spots to number two, while Foo Fighters' In Your Honor dropped one to number three. In its third week, Black Eyed Peas' Monkey Business remained strong, climbing to four. The Backstreet Boys' Never Gone slid four spots to number seven, and System of a Down's Mezmerize stayed put in the 10 spot.

Now we know why Billy Corgan recently announced that Smashing Pumpkins reunion--his first official solo release, TheFutureEmbrace, only managed to move 32,000 copies to open at 30. His previous post-Pumpkins effort with drummer Jimmy Chamberlin, Zwan, opened at number three in 2003.

Master P followed at 39 with his 11th disc, Ghetto Bill (Best Hustler In The Game), selling over 25,000 copies. Though he's not selling albums like he did back in the day, the No Limit kingpin helped revolutionize indie hip-hop in the '90s as his label sold millions of albums with little or no mainstream exposure.

Other noteworthy newcomers included Patti LaBelle's Classic Moments at 25, the Dropkick Murphys' Warrior's Code at 48, TLC's Now & Forever at 53, Ednita Nazario's Apasionada at 70 and the Best of Sugar Ray at 138. Meanwhile, Bam Margera of Jackass and Viva La Bam fame made his chart debut at 141 with Viva La Bands, a collection of his favorite underground talent.

With Herbie: Fully Loaded stalling at number four in its opening weekend in theaters, the soundtrack also failed to do much on the charts, entering at 103.

Here's a recap of last week's Top 10 albums:

1. X&Y, Coldplay
2. The Emancipation of Mimi, Mariah Carey
3. In Your Honor, Foo Fighters
4. Monkey Business, Black Eyed Peas
5. Boyz N Da Hood, Boyz N Da Hood
6. Way It Is, Keyshia
7. Never Gone, Backstreet Boys
8. Greatest Hits, The Offspring
9. Fast Money, Birdman
10. Mezmerize
