Christie Brinkley: Cover Woman
Christie Brinkley is back to prove she's still got it.
The 51-year-old model has reteamed with CoverGirl cosmetics in a multiyear deal as the face of a new line called Advanced Radiance--makeup intended for women 30 and over.
Brinkley previously worked as the face of CoverGirl from 1976 through 1996 in a deal believed to be the longest running cosmetics contract ever signed by a model.
The blond-haired, blue-eyed mother of three waxed enthusiastic about returning to work with the cosmetics company.
"CoverGirl is part of my DNA and I'm thrilled to be back with 'family,' " Brinkley said in a statement. "I'm excited to promote a new product developed specifically for women like me, who want flawless coverage combined with the latest science in skincare. I'm looking forward to working with the brand at a time when there is so much innovation."
The company was similarly enthused about teaming with Brinkley, stating that her "fresh, flawless skin and carefree smile" made her a perfect fit for the new line.
Brinkley, who's currently on her fourth marriage (to architect Peter Cook, whom she wed in 1996), counts Billy Joel among her ex-husbands.
The pair wed in 1985 and divorced in 1994. They have one daughter together.
Despite their split, Brinkley and Joel reportedly remain close and she was a guest at his 2004 wedding to current wife Katie Lee.
However, the exes have had their troubles as well. After Joel crashed his car in January 2003, Brinkley was spotted hours later at the scene of the wreck, snapping photos.
She later released a statement condemning him for putting their daughter, Alexa, at risk, though the child was not in the car at the time of the accident.
Earlier this year, Joel landed back in rehab to seek treatment for a drinking problem. He emerged in April, reportedly in a sober state of mind.
