New BFF alert: Johnny Depp and...Elton John?!
The two stars left separately but dined together last night at the West Hollywood eatery Madeo, a restaurant source tells me. Considering Johnny's such a private guy, we're curious why he'd choose such a celeb-heavy and paparazzi-stalked place to eat—maybe he really likes the food.
So what were these two talking about?

Perhaps Johnny was courting Elton to help in one of his many upcoming projects:
Just days ago, the star signed on to play the beloved Dr. Seuss in a biopic. And next year, he'll make a cameo in the upcoming big-screen remake of 21 Jump Street, reunite with Tim Burton in the goth vampire tale Dark Shadows and still find time to play Tonto in The Lone Ranger.
Or perhaps he's going to sing again and was seeking Elton's guidance? Johnny already showed off his impressive pipes in Sweeney Todd.
Or maybe Elton wants Johnny to play the singer in his own biopic Rocketman?
Then again, maybe the two dads were just swapping parenting tips
Anyhoo, The Rum Diaries star's exit from Madeo on Monday night was far more graceful than Johnny's one this weekend from the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood.
Hollywood TV caught the Deppster taking a serious tumble outside 25 Degrees on Saturday night.
Looks like Captain Jack's sea legs got the best of him.
