Burton, Bonham Carter's Baby Love

Helena Bonham Carter and Tim Burton welcomed a perfectly healthy baby into the world this weekend.

(What, you were expecting scissorhands or seams at the joints?)

"Helena has given birth to a baby boy. Both mother and child are very well and healthy. Helena is absolutely over the moon, and so is Tim," the actress' rep told London's Evening Standard.

Born Saturday in a London hospital, the baby weighed in at seven pounds. The parents have not decided on a name yet.

It's a first child for the 37-year-old Fight Club star and the 45-year-old Beetlejuice helmer.

Theirs was a match made on Planet of the Apes. The two met when Burton directed Bonham Carter in the 2001 sci-fi remake and have been together ever since, living in adjoining houses in north London.

At the time, she was accused of stealing Burton from his muse and fiancée of nine years, Lisa Marie.

Prior to this, she was linked to her Frankenstein director Kenneth Branagh, who may or may not have left his wife, Emma Thompson, for her.

Burton, who first made his mark with Pee-wee's Big Adventure, will release his next feature, Big Fish, costarring Bonham Carter, Ewan McGregor and Billy Crudup, on Dec. 10.

He has also signed on to direct Warner Bros.' remake of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory starring Johnny Depp. The kiddie classic is scheduled for theaters in fall 2005.

Bonham Carter, who found fame in 1985's A Room with a View, will soon appear in an English TV production of Henry VIII as Anne Boleyn.
