Bum Shoulder Halts Bowie Show

A reality check for David Bowie on his current Reality Tour: Ziggy Stardust is getting creaky.

The 57-year-old rocker was forced to cut short a gig in Prague Wednesday due to a bum shoulder, according to publicist Lathum Nelson.

Bowie "finished his show in Prague last night slightly ahead of schedule," Nelson said in a statement. "This was due to a trapped nerve."

Bowie had been performing for more than an hour when he took an unscheduled 10-minute break as his shoulder acted up.

The Thin White Duke returned to play two more songs before walking off the stage and ending the concert. During the last tune, "The Man Who Sold the World," Bowie sat on a stool wincing in pain with his hand clutching his shoulder.

No other details were available on his condition, but it wasn't considered serious. He is still scheduled to play two weekend dates in Germany and has 16 scheduled dates on the Euro leg of his tour supporting his latest album, Reality.

And reality has been biting of late.

During a gig Saturday at a music festival in Oslo, Norway, the "Look Back in Anger" singer was nearly blinded after a candy-loving fan threw a lollipop at him. The offending sucker got wedged between his left eyelid and eyeball.

The concert was halted while a roadie came on stage to help dislodge the wayward candy, after which he cursed out the candy thrower, then laughed off the incident and continued on with his set.

Last month, the entertainer was forced to scrap a date in Miami after a local stagehand was killed after accidentally falling off a ladder shortly before Bowie was supposed to go on.
