Brüno Banks an R Rating
Universal Studio
Brüno just kissed the box-office kiss of death goodbye.
While the Motion Picture Association of America last month threatened to slap an NC-17 rating on the faux documentary due to several sexually explicit man-love scenes, a final reedited version of the surefire blockbuster has netted the film a much more audience-friendly R.
But fans of particularly outrageous adult-certified fare shouldn't despair just yet—the cut scenes are expected to be included on the film's DVD release.
In explaining the film's R rating, the MPAA board cited Brüno's "pervasive strong and crude sexual content, graphic nudity and language."
Sounds like a crowd pleaser. The Sacha Baron Cohen flick hits screens July 10.
