Brooks & Dunn Bow Out After 20 Years of Country Classics

With nearly two decades of hits and countless accolades under those shiny brass belt buckles, country music's biggest duo is "calling it a day."

Brooks & Dunn announced the split on their website today, saying: "After 20 years of making music and riding this trail together, we have agreed as a duo that it's time call it a day. This ride has been everything and more than we could ever have dreamed."

Ronnie Dunn and Kix Brooks wrapped up their statement by addressing their countless loyal fans: "We owe it all to you, the fans. If you hear rumors, don't believe them, it's just time."

After hitting the scene in 1991 with their debut, "Brand New Man," Brooks & Dunn released upwards of 40 singles, 20 of which have reached No. 1. The CMA Awards honored the men with Vocal Duo of the Year 13 times between 1992 and 2006.

The pair will release their final album Sept. 8, a roundup of their chart-toppers, and will wrap up their run with the Last Rodeo Tour in 2010.
