Brolin, Lane Engaged
Unfaithful babe Diane Lane is ready to give fidelity a try and settle down with Goonie Josh Brolin.
A rep for Brolin confirmed the couple's engagement on Wednesday.
His patriotic proposal occurred over the Fourth of July weekend, according to the rep.
No other details, including particulars of the betrothal or a wedding date, were released about the notoriously press-shy couple, who started dating last year.
The second time hopes be a charm for the actors, both of whom have been to the altar before.
Hollywood-pedigree stud Brolin--son of James and, by extension, stepson of Barbra Streisand (his mother Jane died in 1995)--was married from 1989 to 1992 to actress Alice Adair, with whom he had two children, Trevor and Eden.
He almost tied the knot with Minnie Driver in 2001, but the couple nixed their nuptial plans after three years together. No reason for the breakup was given.
Lane was hitched from 1988 to 1994 to Highlander actor Christopher Lambert, with whom she had a daughter named Eleanor. She has also been linked to Timothy Hutton, Christopher Atkins and Jon Bon Jovi.
Both thesps have been working in the Biz since they were young. Brolin got his first big break as a teen with 1985's The Goonies; his credits also include Flirting with Disaster and Hollow Man. He most recently starred in the now defunct NBC drama Mister Sterling.
Lane got a head start on her beau. She made her professional acting debut at age six in an off-Broadway production of Medea in 1971 and appeared on the cover of Time magazine at age 14 as a young Hollywood whiz kid.
She went on to star in features such as The Outsiders and The Cotton Club and the TV miniseries Lonesome Dove. She received her first Oscar nomination for last year's performance opposite Richard Gere in Unfaithful.
