"B.Pitty" Nixes Fashion Talk
Despite reports this week that the 37-year-old star was planning to partner with his stylist to launch a new clothing line, Pitt says it's not happening, and the actor won't be following in the sartorial footsteps of Puff Daddy and Kathie Lee Gifford anytime soon.
"Guys, slow down. I have no interest in producing a B.Pitty clothing line, based upon my alleged style...so let's put this bonfire out right here," he said in a statement. "The only kernel of truth to this is that I have been pushing friends who design for film to create their own lines, because I think their work is fantastic."
The whole "bonfire" started when men's fashion magazine DNR reported that Pitt had partnered up with his stylist, Todd Shemarya, to create a line with the help of three Hollywood customers.
Shemarya told DNR that prior to a movie premiere he and Pitt tapered the pant legs of the actor's suit, cuffed the pants '50s style and took in the jacket. Shortly after, two designers came out with suits with cuffs and tapered legs. "We laughed like you have no idea. It was so empowering," he said.
Meantime, the media bonfire has shifted to Pitt's wife, Jennifer Aniston, after the much-hyped Friends season finale drew some 29.6 million viewers and revealed that Aniston's character, Rachel, is pregnant. With Chandler and Monica exchanging vows to officially become "The Bings," viewers can now spend the summer pondering who's the father of Rachel's forthcoming bundle of joy.
