Bobby Brown Pals Stabbed

How's this for a future episode of Being Bobby Brown?

Two members of the singer's entourage were hospitalized with stab wounds after a late-night altercation broke out at a swanky Atlanta restaurant owned by Sean "P. Diddy" Combs.

And in a twist, the oft-troubled Brown was not--we repeat, not--involved in the incident.

According to Atlanta Police Department spokesman Sergeant Kevin Osty, Brown was dining at Justin's Restaurant and Bar Sunday as part of a birthday party for a relative when four or five men got into a heated exchange with members of the "My Prerogative" purveyor's crew.

In the ensuing confrontation, 21-year-old Shayne Brown and 20-year-old Kelsey Brown were slashed and/or stabbed at about 1:30 a.m., says Detective D.L. Dixon. The two men were taken to a hospital where they were treated for knife wounds; they are reported to be in stable condition.

Investigators are still looking for the assailants, who fled the scene in a silver or tan SUV. There is no word on what triggered the scrap.

"There was a lot of music and talking going on," Dixon told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "It could have been something as simple as a bump, you know, somebody bumped into each other."

Police could not confirm whether Brown's superstar wife, Whitney Houston, or a film crew for his upcoming Bravo reality show, Being Bobby Brown, was at the restaurant at the time of the stabbing.

As for Puffy, an attorney representing the rap impresario held a press conference stating that the melee had nothing to do with the rapper's company, Bad Boy Entertainment, or Justin's Restaurant.

"The restaurant maintains the highest level of security. Our first priority is and always will be our customers," attorney Vincent Dimmock told reporters.

Justin's recently launched an open-mike event on Sunday nights called Lip Service that, Dimmock says, is quite popular among entertainers, including Brown, who briefly performed.

Brown, who lives in the Atlanta suburb of Alpharetta with Houston, could not be reached for comment, nor could reps for Bravo.

However, Sergeant Osty said the 36-year-old performer visited Shayne Brown at Piedmont Hospital.

While the knife fight probably won't make the cut for Being Bobby Brown, producers have plenty of material to choose from, given Brown's history of run-ins with the ATL's finest, ranging from substance abuse and drunken driving charges to a highly publicized domestic spat with Houston.

Earlier this month, the former New Edition crooner was given an ultimatum by a Massachusetts judge to pay money into an educational trust for the two children he had with ex-girlfriend Kim Ward.

For those curious to know what it's like Being Bobby Brown, the reality series premieres June 30.
