Billy Baldwin Wants Nathan Lane's Job

Billy Baldwin is a very busy man. Yesterday, I told you all about his work on the new ABC series Dirty Sexy Money and his plans to move to Los Angeles if the show is a hit.
Now, I give you the deets on his celebrity online auction benefiting his mom’s Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund. Among the goodies up for grabs at charityfolks.com are backstage passes and meet and greets with heavyhitters like Melissa Etheridge, Sheryl Crow and Reba McEntire. There’s even a motorcycle designed by Billy Joel.
And there’s a lot more. When I spoke to Baldwin yesterday, he was in the middle of making dozens of calls to his celeb friends asking for more items.
“I’m working on an American Idol package,” Baldwin said. “It looks like I got a package to attend a Playboy party at the Mansion. I believe I’ve gotten an item from Brothers & Sisters. I’m talking to Nike about a package with Tiger Woods.”
There are also walk-ons on Dirty Sexy Money. And, of course, a walk-on on 30 Rock with Billy’s brother Alec.
But Billy says not to go looking for him to try to get on his brother’s show. “I would have paid for that if they would have cast me to play my brother’s brother,” he joked. “Instead they cast f---kin’ Nathan Lane! If you had asked me to actually play my brother’s brother in an episode…that I’ll bid for!”
Nathan Lane aside, how much is Billy hoping to raise? Between $250,000 and $500,000.
