Beyoncé Drops Dad as Her Manager

Beyoncé's career is no longer a family affair.
The pop superstar has ended her business relationship with her father, Matthew Knowles, who has managed the 16-time Grammy winner since she was a teenager getting her start with Destiny's Child in the late 1990s.
Beyoncé made sure, however, to emphasize that she and her dad are only parting ways "on a business level."
"He is my father for life and I love my dad dearly," the now 29-year-old singer said in a statement obtained by E! News, adding that she's ever grateful for the impact he made on her career over the years.
The sentiment was echoed by her dad, who issued his own statement declaring the decision "was mutual." Said the elder Knowles: "We did great things together, and I know that she will continue to conquer new territories in music and entertainment."
Former Destiny's Child member Kelly Rowland cut ties with Knowles in January 2009.
