Being Julia Roberts

"Before, you could build a career over years and many movies. Now, it’s like you do one good movie, and they throw a ton of money at you and a ton of attention at you."

Julia Roberts may well be talking about us when she complains in the new issue of Vanity Fair about the sideshow that Hollywood has become.

But we don't hold it against her. Much as we love our Hills pseudo-stars and their ilk, even we can recognize that they don't hold a candle to the real star power radiated by Miss Julia.

So, it's kind of funny that her biggest ambition is purely domestic: "My dream is to be a highly fulfilled and productive stay-at-home mom and wife." Oh, and don't forget the composting and needlework.

But Julia's not totally disappearing. She stars in Charlie Wilson's War with Tom Hanks next month. Plus, the Moder-Roberts clan is moving from Venice to a "green" house in Malibu, where Danny grew up—and the paparazzi are persistent. Heck, we'll probably see more of her now than ever.

Just don't hold that against us, Julia.
