A "Beautiful Mind"-ed Marriage

Does Ron Howard get a producer's credit for this project?

Jennifer Connelly and Paul Bettany--two of the actors from Howard's much Oscar'd A Beautiful Mind--have tied the knot in a hush-hush ceremony.

Connelly, a Best Supporting Actress Oscar winner as Alicia Nash, wife of Russell Crowe's demonized math whiz John Nash, and Bettany, who played Nash's imaginary Princeton pal Charles Herman, married "over the holidays" in Scotland, Connelly's publicist confirmed to E! on Friday.

It was a small, private ceremony attended only by family and close friends and held at an estate.

Connelly and Bettany met nearly two years ago while shooting A Beautiful Mind, but they didn't become an item until months later, when her relationship with actor Josh Charles (Sports Night) soured.

It's the first marriage for both, although Connelly was once engaged to her Rocketeer costar Billy Campbell and has a five-year-old son, Kai, from a previous relationship with photographer David Dugan.

Before landing her career-changing role in A Beautiful Mind, Connelly, 32, appeared in several films over the past two decades, including Pollock, Requiem for a Dream, Higher Learning and Labyrinth. She'll next be seen playing the love interest, Betty Ross, in Ang Lee's big-budget movie version of The Hulk, due out June 20.

The British-born Bettany, 31, made his big Hollywood splash playing a naked Geoffrey Chaucer in 2001's A Knight's Tale. He has two notable films coming out in 2003: Dogville, a historical drama starring Nicole Kidman and directed by Lars von Trier; and Master and Commander--The Far End of the World, a Peter Weir-helmed naval action adventure that reteams him with Crowe. Master and Commander is slated for a June 6 debut, while Dogville will be unveiled in May at Cannes before playing the U.S. art-house circuit in the fall.
