The Beastie Boys continue to fight for their right to party. Or, more specifically, the chance to celebrate at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

The trio is just one of several artists who have been nominated, once again, for induction into the Rock Hall's class of 2012. They join previous nominees including Red Hot Chili Peppers, Donna Summer, Laura Nyro, Donovan and War.

So which acts are first-time nominees?

Well, that would include Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Heart, Rufus with Chaka Khan, the Cure, the Small Faces/the Faces, Freddie King, the Spinners and Guns N' Roses.

To be eligible for inclusion in the Rock Hall's 27th annual ceremony, all nominees must have released their first album or single at least 25 years ago. More than 500 voters will decide who actually makes the cut.

The winners will then be inducted April 14 at the Hall of Fame's home in Cleveland.
